Left at 0700 to head down the St. Mary’s River. Freighter traffic slowed us down as we waited for them to pass us in the narrow spots.
Anchored in Robinson Bay on east side of Cockburn Island. Not a planned anchorage but the winds were right on the nose and seas were building so decided to play it safe. A good choice as heavy rains developed as well. Two other boats came and anchored in the bay just before a torrential downpour. As always, the weather changes every few minutes and it was sunny again by dinner time and Mike could barbecue the burgers.
Up-anchored at 0600 and headed out to the lake again. However, after 20 nm of banging headlong into boxcar size waves, we turned around and motored back and tucked into Vidal Bay on Manitoulin Island. Made a plan to make our way down the North Channel to wait for a window.
