Early departure from Sinclair Cove. Amazing skies today with fairly calm seas. Had planned to sail to Ile Parisienne today but since we were making great time, decided to head for the Soo.
Freighters plentiful today. They are scary because they seem quite distant and then they are right on top of you. Makes for tricky helming in narrow passages.
There was a 20 minute wait at the dock at the Soo Lock. Worst dock I have ever seen. An embarrassment really. Took a picture to send to our MP Darryl Kramp. Not that it will do any good. There were warnings not to step on it which was impossible since we had to tie up. The lock, itself, was great. A nice gentle 12’ decline. Yup, we’re going down! Back to same slip at Roberta Bondar Marina.
We had a nice dinner at Docks and watched an amazing sunset. Don’t know what happened to the moose on the point but it had lost an antler since we were here last.
Caught up on laundry and shopping. Lunch at an old Soo establishment - Muois. (Not sure about the spelling.). Cheap and good. Frank’s daughter came by with her 2 boys. The one started pointing out all of the fist on Rick’s t-shirt. The 2 1/2 year old, Shea, became my best buddy, giving me a hug when he left.
Managed to get calls in to Erin, Mom & Dad. Everyone sounds good. Went to the Docks again for supper.
